Privacy Policy (PDPA Compliance)

SBB Money Exchange values your privacy. In compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia, this policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our currency exchange and remittance services.

To provide our licensed money services and comply with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) regulations, we must collect certain personal data, including:

  • Full Name and NRIC or Passport Number.

  • Contact details (Phone number, address, and email).

  • Nationality and Date of Birth.

  • Source of funds and purpose of transaction.

  • Bank account details (for remittance services).

2. Purpose of Data Processing

Your information is processed for the following reasons:

  • To verify your identity and complete your transaction.

  • To comply with the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA).

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.

  • To maintain internal records for audit and regulatory inspections.

3. Disclosure of Information

SBB Money Exchange does not sell your data to third parties. However, we may share your information with:

  • Regulatory Authorities: Specifically Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and other government agencies as required by law.

  • Service Partners: Licensed remittance partners (e.g., Western Union, Ria) to facilitate your international money transfers.

4. Security and Retention

We implement strict physical and digital security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access or disclosure. In accordance with Malaysian law, we retain your transaction records and personal data for a minimum of seven (7) years.

5. Your Rights

Under the PDPA, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you.

  • Request the correction of any inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Withdraw your consent for us to process your data (this may result in our inability to provide certain services).
